The City of Camarillo Public Works Department is seeking a seasoned Maintenance Superintendent to be a hands-on, collaborative manager leading the Streets Division, team of 20 staff. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in public works infrastructure maintenance and repair work, including in particular City streets, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, landscapes, irrigation systems, traffic signs, pavement markings and related areas. Direct experience in budgeting, bidding, executing contracts and managing the work of a wide range of contractors is imperative as the Streets Division is responsible for landscaping and tree trimming, weed abatement, holiday decorations, Old Town street banners and pressure washing within City rights-of-way.
Collaborative leadership is necessary in this role, and the ideal candidate will possess experience leading and supervising staff, with an emphasis on teamwork and staff development to achieve operational excellence. A detail oriented mindset is important, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and contracts at the same time, following through to ensure timely completion.
