The Town of San Anselmo is seeking to hire a Public Works Manager. This position is a mid- management level, performing a variety of tasks and duties.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The Public Works Manager is a full time position (40 hours per week). The monthly salary range is $8,342 - $10,242 ($8,717 - $10,702 effective 7/1/22)

THE POSITION
Typical duties of the Public Works Manager position include but are not limited to the following:
Perform related duties as assigned, including prolonged emergency duty during Town disasters.
Provides daily oversight to senior maintenance staff with a goal of providing superior quality and efficiency.
Manager both in-house and contract staff responsible for the management and maintenance of parks, medians, pathways, and landscaped areas on all municipal properties, parkways, street dividers and highway areas including trees, grass, plants, irrigation system, equipment, and structures.
Oversees the management and the repair and maintenance of Town vehicles and equipment. • Participates in budget preparation and administration of the Department operating funds and capital improvement projects.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal candidate will have a combination of experience and training equivalent to five years of management, administration and maintenance in the field of public works operations, systems, programs, activities, and equipment.
Abilities:
Effectively supervise public works personnel.
Interact and negotiate with contractors, engineers, and their representatives.
Use a personal computer and related maintenance software.
Supervise the preparation of maintenance records and prepare technical reports.
Evaluate and resolve street, sewer, and building maintenance problems.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Knowledge:
Principles and practices of public works maintenance and administration as applied to the design, construction and operation of public works facilities and technical inspection services.
Laws and codes related to the public works maintenance.
Recent developments, current literature and sources of information in municipal public works administration.
Licenses Required: Possess a valid California Class C Driver’s License.
ABOUT SAN ANSELMO The Town of San Anselmo, nestled at the base of Mt. Tam in Marin County, California, is 2.7 square miles and home to about 13,000 residents.
